Silesian Film Archive
40-087 Katowice
ul. Sokolska 66

The Silesian Film Archive is located in the Kino Kosmos building in Katowice, which constantly adjusts its building for people with special needs. The rooms belonging to the Kosmos Cinema are: a large cinema room ("Nostromo"), a small cinema room ("Solaris"), a gallery "Before the screening", toilets in the cinema, the main hall on the ground floor. We strive for full accessibility in all spaces.

• The main building of the Kosmos Cinema • Location and entrance The cinema building is located near the very center of the city, at ul. Sokolska 66 in Katowice. The main entrance to the cinema is on the street side. A ramp for people in wheelchairs leads to it. The route without barriers, without high thresholds - entrance doors open to the outside of the building, with the additional possibility of opening a second leaf. The cinema employee is available to the viewer in the cinema space, at the box office. The cinema staff is at your disposal before and after the screenings. You can enter the building with a guide dog. The nearest bus stop is located next to the cinema, on ul. Morcinka, approx. 50 m behind the pedestrian crossing.

• Main hall + ticket office The main hall is free of communication obstacles, with access to the cinema ticket office to the left of the entrance. Repertoire, promotional and advertising materials are placed in a way that is easily accessible to every viewer, both in the hall and in the gallery space. Information posters are hung at such a height that any information placed on them is easily readable by any interested person.

• "Before the screening" gallery

The "before the screening" gallery is located in the cinema building. Similarly to the hall, it is devoid of communication obstacles. It is a place where you can easily spend time waiting for a screening - with generally accessible film press, a children's corner and a small exhibition space.

•Toilet

In the hall, just behind the cash register, there is a toilet adapted to people with special needs ("Toilet exceptional").

• Parking + parking spaces

The cinema has its own parking lot. Entry with the consent of the cinema employee, after lifting the barrier. Along Morcinka Street, next to the cinema building, there is the nearest parking space for people with disabilities. The place is about 50 m away from the entrance to the cinema (with a driveway), without any barriers.
